Balai Polis Trafik Batu Pahat

This Traffic Police Station was established in the 1930s and was formerly the Batu Pahat District Police Headquarters (IPD). This IPD moved its operations to a new station located on Jalan Bakau Condong in 2011 with a more modern and futuristic building. This Police Station holds a dark event for the community here, namely on 16 October 1980 at 9.30 am, where a tragedy occurred when the Batu Pahat Police Station was attacked by followers of heretical teachings. They went on a rampage and attacked the Police Officers on duty at that time with swords. A total of 3 Sergeants, 2 Corporals, 8 Constables, 6 civil servants, an office staff and 2 civilians were injured. A total of 6 followers of the heretical teachings were successfully shot dead by the police. A total of 23 people including 14 police officers were seriously injured. One of them was a heavily pregnant woman, 6 civil servants of the Batu Pahat Police Station, an office staff and 2 civilians who were making a report were also slashed. Meanwhile, a police officer was slashed on the head, arm and finger. The Batu Pahat Traffic Police Station building is now used as the administrative centre for the Batu Pahat District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division.
