Tokong Tien How

Tien How Temple was originally built near Sungai Batu Pahat, which is close to the Batu Pahat wet market, before it was moved to its current location. In this temple there is a statue of the God Mazu which was specially brought from Fujian Province, China by a man named Lin Heng. The reputation of this temple is so strong that some devotees of the God Mazu are willing to come to the door of this temple as early as 12 midnight on the first day of Chinese New Year to light incense sticks in the incense burner. Devotees of this god believe that they will be blessed with abundant sustenance. This temple is owned by the Lim clan through their association, Lim Sz Chong Su which is located next to this temple. A plaque commemorating the Lim family name is also placed in this historic temple.
