Perigi Batu Pahat
According to Malay History, The Siamese soldiers fled and were pursued by the Bendahara Tun Perak (Treasurer of Melaka) and his followers all the way to Muar. Upon arriving at Batu Pahat, the Siamese soldiers carved a stone in the area where the water flowed until it became a well. The purpose was to collect fresh water for their needs while sailing. After obtaining a supply of water, the soldiers continued their journey through Singapore and returned to Siam via the South China Sea. This well is called the Batu Pahat Well located in Kuala Sungai Batu Pahat, which is in the village of Minyak Beku. The name of the town of Batu Pahat is in conjunction with that event.
Behind the Name:
The origin of the name Batu Pahat comes from a stone well that was carved by the Siamese soldiers after they were defeated in a war to attack Malacca during the reign of Sultan Mansure Shah 111(1446-1459)
