Pasar Melayu Jalan Ibrahim
The original Malay market had no roof and was covered with red clay floors and the doors of the shops were only covered with wooden planks. Starting in 1947, efforts were made to build a roof on the entrance to this market. Now it is the only market that still has traders selling handmade songkok that have been inherited. Songkok makers here still carry on the business as a result of the skills of the previous Malay songkok makers. In addition, this market also sells various types of religious books and the Quran and was very popular around the 60s to the 90s. This market has a lot of history and memories, especially by the residents of Batu Pahat. Now, in line with the modernization of the times, this market has been given a new lease of life with improvements to the facade, floor painting and colorful wall decorations (street art).
