Pantai Minyak Beku

Located about 8 kilometers from Batu Pahat town with its position near the mouth of the Batu Pahat River. The frozen oil village located near Telaga Kuala was opened in 1818 by Daeng Ahmad who came from Sulawesi, Indonesia. Because Daeng Ahmad often went back and forth to meet relatives in this estuary, he realized that the area was suitable for development as a village and he received permission from the government in Temasek (Singapore) to open the area. At that time, there were many keruing trees (dipterocarpus crinitus) in this area and the residents used resin from this tree to coat the walls of their houses. However, changes in the weather caused the resin to freeze on the walls and be difficult to remove. Therefore, Daeng Ahmad suggested 'Frozen Oil' as the name of the village, and this name remains to this day.
